Default Various PP questions before purchase

Hi, I'm new to the forums and am considering purchasing the lexia 3 cables and downloading the pp software. I need a couple of questions answering first. I'll put you in the picture first.

Peugeot 307 03 (Van architecture, I am told).
I have a monochrome RT3 stereo/gps/gsm system in the car. The monochrome screen is kaput, there are that many lines on it I can hardly read a word on it. On the stereo there is a Peugeot assistance button which I think you have to have a subscription to for it to work. However when my small children mess about in the car and press the button in it drains the battery on the car overnight. In the past I've jump started the car with no problems but this time after some investigation on these great forums I have found out that the codes for the keys have been erased during the process of connecting the leads as there is a special procedure to follow which I wasn't aware of.

The imobiliser is now permanently on and the car turns over fine but it wont start as the keys will not communicate with the car. The central lock button on the dash has a constant flashing red light on it.

Just to complicate matters further, two years ago we had the car stolen and had to have a new lock set and keys. the repair company said that the code card that you get with a new car is not supplied with new lock sets and keys.

So thats the story, here are the questions:-

1 Can PP programme the old keys back to the car?
2 What codes would I need and where would I get them from to do the above?
3 Can I access functions of the RT3 system on the car with PP like pairing a new screen to the RT3 system?

When I asked my local stealership they said it would cost me,, get ready:-

£50/key
£70 to have it put on the diagnostics first
£50 approx to get the codes from Peugeot to programme the keys. However even they were not sure if the codes from Peugeot would be correct since we had the locks changed !

At the moment my wife is on the busses with two small children. MOT and tax pending at the end of this month.

Help!!

bettyswollocks can sort you out with the key code for a fiver, which you would then use along with Planet to add your existing key(s) and any new ones.

Get in touch with the repair company to see if they produced an emergency transponder code for the new keys or just cut new keys and coded them to the car with the original transponder , if they still have your records on file ask them for the mechanical key code they cut your keys with ,
forget about dealer for codes i can supply them for a fiver , but if you can get the codes from the repair company i can check them to see if they are the same and your transponder will work.

What you can do is get from a scrapyard a second hand BSI , Engine ECU and transponder chip (with cars vin number), put these in the car , put the transponder in your keyfob and recode keys ,

either way its going to cost you money and time i`m afraid.

ps, pp can code keys and radio`s plus lots other stuff .

You lost me there, if you can supply the code for a fiver why would I need the second hand ecu etc etc?
It was a complete new lock system as we could not risk the theives being able to unlock the car with the old key though the old key wouldn't allow them to drive it. They broke into the house and stole the keys to the car.

The codes you can supply, are these made to match the vin number? Is it like a key generator? Or is there only one specific key that will work on any car?

Do you think if they've replaced all the locks and keys on the car, the code will be the same as the original stolen key? If this was the case wouldn't the original stolen key unlock the car remotely?
If its not the same, would the code you get for me be the original or the new one to match the new lock set and keys?

Mechanical key code = is for cutting the blade that will fit lock to your car

your locks are changed so they cut new keys to fit new locks.

This code will now not work for your car, but you don`t need it anyway

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Transponder code = to code key to car

this will be the same as its coded to your vin number ,the transponder chip is inside the black fob part of your key.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now this is where it can get tricky , they could produce a new transponder code for your car that is not tied to your vin number, but hopefully they didn`t do this because the Dealer or myself can not get this code.

Hope that didn`t confuse you more

ps yes the stolen keys could unlock car so they might have changed transponder that is were a BSI, ECU and new chip come in in my original post.

Well they'd be bloody stupid if they did that then

So to round up, all I should need is the transponder code, and PP of course.

Tried messaging one in Rotherham a day or so ago but I've had no response yet. So it looks like I'm getting PP. Probably a good long term purchase anyway.

Thanks very much for your help,

I'll let you know how I go.

Shopping for PP now.
