Default Various faults

I have a 307 sw 2004 HDi110 1.6, only had it a couple of weeks and have 4 things that seem to need attention:
1) On initial ignition the oil indicator shows just 1 square and is flashing, but having had an oil change, and checked the dipstick, it's full.
2) 3 times after shortish trips of about 20 miles the engine fan comes on when the ignition is switched off, lasts 7 minutes.
3) the centre dash screen (for the time/date/temp etc) was working fine, but the letters now have blurred and I can't seem to find a contrast level I can adjust.
4) and the brakes make a rotational noise, with speed of the car, on soft braking, we had the car in 1 week ago and they cleaned up the brakes but the noise has come back.

Please anyone, any ideas? Thanks

Default 1) sensor

Thanks, we've asked the garage to replace the sensor for free, will that not fix it??

Depends if the electronic oil sensor on these measures temperature, pressure or level.

2) Sounds like DPF regen.

3) The contrast is on the instrument binnacle (I love that word). Press the little stalk (its like the trip counter reset) and it should fade up and down.

4) ABS? Is it like a grinding noise? I'd bet a tenner its the ABS sensors.

Default Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your reply, have now seen which stalk you mean, in our handbook for some reason it's in Indonesian! We've looked into the DPf (Pollen filter) and do wonder if thats the problem. ABS sensors, we'll mention that when at the garage, and Oil sensor we've asked to be replaced as per the handbook. Many thanks for your reply.

Diesel particulate filter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When doing the regen it will smoke a lot more.

Get a diagnostic check done. I'll bet the car needs heaterplugs.
A BSI download is needed to cure oil level problem on dash.
Check the bulbs at the back of the display, there are three.

Default Thank you for your replys.

Betty - Car doesn't smoke at all,

David - Many thanks, we'll see if the garage we bought it from will do the checks as they are a Renault/Suzuki dealer. We have a 6 month warranty but have told the garage as we've only had the car 3 weeks and these problems were there from the outset we won't be claiming under the warranty, it's going back in on Monday and I'll pass on your expert advice. When we get the car back I'll update on here.
