Towbar electrics

Will be using the trailor alot more now. My 307 came with a towbar but electrics isnt working. Picked up a new tailgate for the trailor in halfords as the old one was smashed.

Just wondering how I should go about fixing it.....

i would first check to see if there is voltage on any wires.... if not is the loom plugged in, if yes, is it switched on? if yes, fucked cables

oh and check any fuses.
