Hi experts,
I just have a small question about temperature sensors in 306 although I am not an owner of 306 . Just my curiosity. As you can see in the second image, there are three temperature sensors and they are reading the temperature from the same point where you can see in the first picture. Blue sensor is for the gauge on the dashboard, Brown sensor is for Bitron for cooling fans, Green sensor is for ecu to adjust the fuel mixture. Could anybody explain me the reason behind putting three sensors instead of just one in order to read the temperature? Wouldn't be easier if there is only one sensor and the ECU shares the data? Is it just because to separate different organs of the car? Thank you. ![]()

Advances in engine management have all three incorporated into one sensor now. Less parts, cheaper.

So, we are agree that indeed those three sensors are doing exactly the same job there
Could you tell me in which Peugeot models we have only one sensor instead of three? How about 207, 307?
