Anyone here done a strut top bearing??
I am doing a major overhaul on the suspension/steering! getting a new ball joint and drop links. And also strut top bearing! I have the strut off and the springs compressed but am struggling to shift the nut. It is very tight and there is very little depth to it. And I struggled to find anything to fit into the top to stop it turning. Is it a strange size?? I can't find any allen key to fit. I have a torx key in that seems to be doing the job! Phil |

I did one on my 306 last week. No problems, and I didn't take the strut fully out!

SORTED!
It IS actually a torx key on the top, I just needed to drive the right size one in! Then managed to hold everything firm to get the nut cracked off without rounding! ONLY problem now is that stupid 10mm bolt, that you struggle to get socket/ring spanner on, that holds the wheel sensor , has sheared off. Looks like a drilling job!![]() Phil |
