Starting running for a bit then stopping

Hi new to this bought a 307 rapier 2.0 diesel just changed the fuel pump on it today starts no prob so pump timing is all ok runs for a min or so them dies when u try start it after it dies it won't leave it for a few mins then starts again when it decide not to start the fuel pump in the tank won't start up so bought a new 1 replaced that still the same engine management lights on also says anti pollution on the dash to concerning think was the dealer told me it was the pump replaced it and goes a few seconds then that's it need help waiting on diagnosis tool comming to check faults I considered that the fault codes ma be stored from the old faults Ie the fuel pump but advise would be good until the machine code reader comes Ie how to fix problem fuel bar pressure ect my knowledge for this car is not a lot so every little helps lol looking forward to the responses
