Default Smell of Diesel in boot

Hi,
Anyone had a problem of a smell of diesel in the boot of a 307.
Everything that's put in the boot comes out smelling of diesel.
Can't really smell it much anywhere else other than the boot.

any help will be great.

Ever put a can of diesel in there? Once diesel gets into something, its really difficult to remove it. I found this out when the garage replaced the tank diesel pump in my 306
I used water with washing up liquid (it helps to break down the diesel) and then sprayed with Febreeze..... after a couple of days, job was a good 'un
