Default PP2000/Lexia3

looking at getting a laptop to run it, am I correct in thinking I cant run it on my Vista Lap top. I have a desktop that I can set up in garage for the moment at a push.

As for Lexia 3/PP2000, are the ones from China the same and run same software or are you getting the propper main dealer stuff.
Looks like the USB cable can be plugged into the interface and the serial plug used to connect to PC.

What version comes with the China ones, can you upgrade it.

Where is the best place to get one from, as not trusting of China sites.

Laptop with XP best ,
the only one`s you can get are from China no-matter what some ebayers claim,
usb goes to laptop ,
you can upgrade to newest version,
best place is the one with best feedback , we have all bought from different sellers.

Don't worry about the software that comes with it.... just download it from Phil's site here and it will work

You could create a virtual XP drive to run in Vista, or a second bootable disk.

I was thinking of putting in a new HDD and loading XP on that. Just got a cheap 3 year old Asus laptop for £50 and returned it to fresh new instal of Vista, wished Id put XP on it now!

Best bet in that case is create a virtual XP drive.
Create an XP Mode for Windows 7 Home Versions & Vista - How-To Geek will show how

I'm asuming that will mean partitioning the drive and instaling XP to it, then boot from that drive through Bios?

Nope.... you would just boot Vista as per normal, then run VMWare (free download) and run a virtual XP machine.... with it running full screen, you wouldn't know it wasn't booted that way.

That link gives a very good step-by-step guide on what it is and how to create one
