Default Power steering issue

I wonder if anyone can help.
Our power steering on our 307 is playing up.
It fails to start up on first ignition, but go 10 yards down the road, engine off then on and it comes on.

Any suggestions...?

Regards
Damo

Default Could be...

But why is it suddenly working 10 yards down the road?
It means it works, just not straight away.
Or is the pump only there to get immediate response to the unit?

And any idea how much a replacement would be?

Fluid fine.
What about labour charge, or is it pretty easy to DIY?

Not sure never had that problem , again you need someone to make sure before you start firing parts at it , theres gonna be a cost here somewhere.

i bought some power steering fluid from halfords for my 307...still got loads...but anyways they do sell it, look through your owners manual or haynes and it will tell you the recommended spec to use. from memory it cost about £10 for half a litre.

i am back home 2moz, so i will look at the container and info you on the manufacturer and grade etc.
