Please help my 307 automatic won't start

Good afternoon all,

Can anyone help please? I have a 307 automatic 1.6 litre, 2006. When i turn the ignition it just clicks although the dash board lights up.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

The first thing to check is the battery...sounds like yours is flat....failing that it could be a starter motor problem....just my 2p worth...

Thanks for that Elma, dont think its the battery, but what would I do if its the starter motor? Is there any way I can check?

check your fuses there is a fuse for starter control normally if this blows the starter is faulty needs replacing if it has and you replace fuse and everything is fine carry a spare fuse incase but i must say on my 407 only replaced twice before starter packed in altogether and needed replacing fine now.

Hi Nige,

Thanks for your quick response. I have changed the fuse but its still the same. Also, though I didn't mention before, as well as the click there was a beep when I tried to put the ignition on.

Its confusing as both my lights and wipers are automatic, if you continue to hold the ignition the lights and wipers try to work?

Could be your battery is low on charge .
