Yes you can, but...

1) They must do everything laid down in the schedule.

2) They must use genuine parts, or parts of equivalent quality. This can be a big sticking point, so make sure either genuine parts, or high quality aftermarket parts by the likes of MAHLE etc are used. A FRAM or Champion filter could land you in bother in the event of an engine failure. For example, when I spannered with Nissan they never accepted Champion as OE quality, and it was known to cause oil pressure problems on the K11 Micra.

3) If they're doing it for profit or gain (ie, as a business) they must be VAT registered. This is awkward, as some small specialists or sole traders may not be (i'm not).

The downsides...

1) When your engine blows up 1 week after the warranty expires you have zero chance of goodwill, on the basis that you yourself haven't shown any goodwill. They will not budge on this, and neither will any other manufacturer. You have no chance whatsoever, no matter how loud you shout or how hard you threaten to grass them up to Honest John. People have been caught out with this, including people that use this site.

2) Minor updates/tweaks not worthy of a full recall are usually done for free during the service, and you won't get these.

TBH, you've gone to all the expense and effort of buying an expensive new or nearly new car, and it seems daft to scrimp now. Bite the bullet, then go nuts with Fred the Shed Ltd when the warranty is up.

Your 308 only needs an oil and filter change at that mileage.
Air filter doesn't need changing till about 25k miles and fuel filter doesn't need changing till 40k miles.

...not to mention topping up underbonnet levels as required, inspecting brakes, steering, etc, bleeding of the diesel filter, etc, etc. The oil and filter may be the only parts changed, but even the basic service has a bit more going on than just that.

PS, there is not 40k service on the HDi - the nearest is 37.5k miles on the normnal duty cycle.

Give me a break. I know that there is more included than just an oil and filter.
All the top ups etc you describe are all included with an oil and change service.
I'm just saying that at 12,000mls that a FULL service is not needed and whoever is telling above person is wrong!

Just an idea, why not go buy the oil filter and oil (Total INEO ECS 5w/30) yourself from the dealer and get someone elso to do it. You'll have a receipt for genuine parts and have some comeback on warranty.

You can do it yourself, if you are a "competent engineer".

Now go figure what the lawful definition of that may be when the engine explodes and you're trying to convince PSA to honour the warranty..
