Peugeot already have a Qashqai rival - the 3008. The 3008 is a crossover like the Qashqai, whereas the projected new car is an SUV. Even Nissan themselves agree... http://www.nissan.co.uk/GB/en/vehicl...ossovers/range

Less than 1 in 20 Q's sold have the 4wd option, so the 3008 is in the same market, with similar engine options at a comparable price. I was at the press launch of the 3008 about 8 months prior to it going on sale in the UK, and the pug execs were making a very big deal about how they'd studied the Qashqai and it's market with the specific aim of pinching their sales with the 3008.

Still, that's about what we expect from Auto Express.

That front-end looks far too messy for me.

Chopper i have ordered a new qashqai Tekna
After looking at the 3008 the salesman snubbed me well left me sitting twiddling my thumbs while he greeted customers he must have known sat 10 mins and walked out and must admit you get more in the qashqai Tekna than the 3008 as they have just added there around view monitor as standard in the Tekna now as well.

Just a shame it doesn't drive as shaprly as the 3008, has a smaller and less well proportioned boot, and has relatively small front door apetures that impede access for big sods or folk who aren't too mobile.

Having been a tech for Nissan I can reel a list of Nissan dealers who are crap - not buying the prime model because one salesman is useless is madness. Just find another stockist.

I had two Qashqai's [one at a time] the 5 seater then a 7 seater I liked them very much but not as much as my 3008 which is a smoother quieter ride.
