peugeot partner 3rd gear problem

Hi
Have just got 07 1.6 diesel partner van with 23k on the clock at auction .third gear is quite awkward to get into. All other gears seem fine just third is a pain. Any suggestions ? Is this likely to be clutch problem even though all other gears are fine ? Must admit am not overly impressed with gearbox as it is not that tight in fact I would go so far as to say its a bit sloppy .Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

I have a similar problem to, I have an 06 partner but the downshifts are difficult, a mechanic has checked the outer linkages which are ok but feels the inner linkages have failed. Can anyone offer advise or recommend a repair alternative to replacing the box itself? I am in Reading and am currenlty looking for a repairer to depending on cost. Thanks.
