Peugeot 505 2.2 Turbo PETROL injection, with intercooler

I have just joined the Peugeot forum, so please forgive me if this is not the right place to post...but I have a genuine original (not converted) LHD 505 Saloon Turbo 2.2 injection with intercooler (B reg) and I am trying to find out if - as it seems - it is the only one in the UK. Most Peugeot people I have asked locally have simply never heard of one and insisted that I am mistaken and that it must be a diesel. Others have heard of them but never seen one. They are not listed in the classic car guides and maybe that is because they were never officially imported or sold here and were only made in LHD? I have also been told that those that did exist mainly went to the US, and also that the engines are/were very sought after by racers in some category or other and consequently they were often broken for their running gear. Can anyone enlighten me please?
