Hey there,
I'm contemplating buying a new car this January or February, as soon as I get the money. There are some options infront of me, and I don't know which one to get, to be honest. I had a Mazda 3 2010 but I had an accident with it and it is totaled. Anyway, here are my choices from most to least favorite: Peugeot 408 Ford Focus Hatchback Renault Megane (the new hatchback) Kia Cerato Koup or HB Fiat Bravo I am really interested in the 408 as it is not only spacious and from a good, reputable brand like Peugeot, but it also looks and feels elegant. I sat in it today and the interior is very interesting. I love the white-blacklit gauges and the gearbox. The only problem is that that model (the 408) is assembled in China, although all the parts with the exception of the rims and leather interior are from France. Have you or do you know anyone who tried that car? Does it have any factory problems I should be aware of? And from that list, which one would you recommend and why? It's a big decision for me as this is the car I'm going to be spending at least 5 years to come with or at least I am planning to, and I don't want something that's going to start costing me more than what I paid for it in repairs in the short run. BTW, I am in Egypt and all of them are 1.6L (ranging from 110 - 125), the highest being the Cerato (although at 6,300RPM). Thank you. I appreciate it. TO WHOEVER DOESN'T WANT TO READ ALL OF THE ABOVE: In short, I am asking about the Peugeot 408. It's assembled in China but most of the parts are from France. That's my main concern with it because I don't trust Chinese products. Any of you had any experience with it? Know of any factory problems? Thank you! |

The 408 is a longer wheelbase version of the 308. I think it's only available in China and Argentina at the moment, although i'm ready to stand corrected.

Ah now after a Google, I see you are correct!
And to be launched in Egypt end of 2011 ![]() Looks quite smart too ![]() Doubt the original poster will get too much assistance on this model though, not based on the members of this forum not having access to one
