Default Peugeot 307 won't start or lock (2002)

Hi, can anyone help please. I have a Peugeot 307 2002 hatchback and yesterday after returning to my car and openening it with my key the car wouldn't start. As the fuel level was low (travelled 13 miles from petrol light appearing) thought this was the fault. However i put £5 of petrol in but the car still won't start. Also it won't lock manually or using the key fob. The AA were unable to fix the problem and think its something to do with the car not recognising the key? Any ideas?

Sounds like the BSI is wiped.

Thanks for your reply. Could you confirm what BSI is, and if you know if its a costly job to repair?
Cheers

Thanks for those who kindly replied to my post about my peugeot 307. As i wasn't sure how to fix it i called out an auto electrician. He has since managed to get the car running by repairing the ECU for £195, Fitting a new ignition coil £79, fitting a new sensor £35 plus labour £85. However i've taken it for a drive and it still has issues:
Still only drivers side will lock
Air Con is not getting cold now
Electric window buttons have swtiched which windows they operate
Loud beeping noise every 10 seconds when the stereo is on

If anyone could shed an light on this it would be really appreciated as i'm starting to feel i'm being robbed!
Thanks, Bec

Don't think you're bring robbed..... you definitely have been by the sounds of it. Make him come back, as it sounds like hes caused more problems than were there before he started.

Unless he knows the configuration of your cars BSI he`ll not be able to help , you`ll have to find someone with the same car get them to read their BSI write all configurations down , then change the configuration in your BSI and this will only be done with pp2000.
