Default peugeot 307 2006

hi members,
just bought my peugeot 307 2006 today, upgraded from my 106 xt , anyway bad news on the first day, wondering if anyone knows what this is about.i was driving normally the entire day, then on an uphill, suddenly when my rev hit 2500 or 3000 the engine stopped giving power to the wheels, it didnt turn off the car but the throttle was empty. anyway the engine light started flashing once in a while as well. its all good under 2500 rpm but when i press the gas pedal after that, it just stalls or something. it is a manual 307 XR, anyway was wondering if anyone encountered this problem before, any help would be much appreciated before going to a specialist.
Thanks in advance.

Where did you buy the car from and do you have a warranty?

i bought it used, and no warranty cuz its a 5 year old model.
i was checking out some forums on the web and it seems this problem is pretty much common with 307 users : "cutting out", and they keep talking about electrics and BSI and stuff. any suggestions?

I would be seriously hacked off with the person that sold me it, if he never mentioned such a fault. Someone will be along soon to help or you can list in the 307 section.

Doesn`t matter where you bought it there will be warranty , even the scrap man gives you seven days, turn around and bring it back , you have rights as a consumer .
