No Clock Display

Hi there im new to pug lol so needing some help pls i have just bought my g/f a pug 206 t reg as she has jst passed her test, ive went to put a head unit init for her and she now doesnt have the clock/temp display behind hazzard button, i took it bk out and took the stereo to professional audio fitters who tell me that when u remove the original stereo and put new unit in the clock will never work again but my freind has 206 with sony xplode system and his works, i know theres a few other cables with plugs in there could any them be it ? any help would be greatfully appreciated thanks.
