hi bought a 206 1.6 hdi gti 2 weeks ago, after 100 miles insignificant oil pressure light flashed up, car was put into garage, removed the sump plug, the oil was struggling to come out, it was like tar, the sump was removed, oil flushed through, then discovered turbo was goosed, so a new turbo was ordered and fitted. rocker cover, oil pump hoses etc, removed and clean, think wee flushed the engine 3 times, new oil added...everything that was advised to do, was done, ive only done 50 mile in the car, and today the light came on again! noticed it was happening when i was changing gear, while the revs were low... as soon as the revs increased, the light would go of.. got home, popped the bonnet, and the engine started to get a bit noiser, could the oil pump be shot? any help would be much appreciated..

i did take the oil cap of, it didnt look very wet, but then again i wasnt particularly looking for the cap to be dry, so it might of been fine.. the noise seems to be louder from the left hand side of the engine... if this helps

This problem boils down to wrong oil and bad servicing practices.
Keep an eye to your new turbo. This engine which has excessive carbon buildup will be impossible to remove fully.

Thanks for the reply, car can't be driven as the oil pressure lights on, removed the oil feed pipe to the turbo and there's no oil coming through the pipe.. Sump has been removed pipes checked etc.. All clear... Cars had 3 engine flushes.. Still no pressure.. Mechanic think pumps the next call, looking to get a second opinion from someone with a bit of experience with these engines...

Did you change oil pressure sensor as well?

If the oil was that dire I'd be running a compression test to see if it's even worth trying to spend time and money fixing it.

This car needs an engine. Have seen this problem before. The new turbo will most likely fail too.
