I have my eye on a Peugeot 406 Hdi 110 cv Estate, first registered in 2005 with 77.000 kms on the clock, from a dealer with guaranties etc.
Is anyone familiar with this model, that can give me any advice on it. urgent advice would be appreciated as a 406 2.2 ltr with 125.00 kms on the clock , (a deposit has been paid ), but the German dealer is suddenly going on holiday and the remainder of the money has to be paid all of a sudden in cash, refusing my original original bank transfer, and it has to be paid to someone else which makes me suspicious. Kind regards Karlo |

Hi........ Thanks for your quick replies regarding the dealers.
Can I ask your expert advice on which of the 2 cars would be the better one to get. The first is the 406 estate Hdi 110cv registered in 2005 this has 77.000 on it looks nice but does not seem to have the little extras that the other car has. The other car is a 406 2.2 HDi premium , one owner Klimatronic , this has 125.000kms on it. As I said this seems to have more extras with it nicer interior , set of winter tyres come with it. Basically, which in your opinion is the better to get engine wise, etc Kind regards Karlo |

what sort of roads do you travel on mostly...ie motorway, country, town?
also it sounds a bit suspect that dealer like. jazz came close to something similar...dont be pressured. even go to another dealer, mention what you have found and they may match.

HI John -r
The dealer is no problem now, his is doing the bank transfer, the car will be used for the odd run back to the UK and the occasional long run over here in France, the roads here in France are excellent especially the motorways. Kind regards Karlo |

probs the 2.2 will be better on eco but it is a bit high on mileage and may need some work and a good old service.

HI The price of the HDi 110 is 5600€ , the HDi 2.2 ltr is 6000€, and yes I think the milages are low considering you hear of these diesels going way past, the 400,000 km if looked after . A french friend told of a diesel taxi near him that clocked up a million kms.
If you are wondering why I am living in France and going over for a french peugeot in Germany, it is because the German and the Belgiums give you a much better deal, the cars seem to be cleaner, better looked after both body and engine wise, lower kms on them, more extras ........ some of the french Peugeots I have seen, well thats another story , they look like stock cars, mind you if you see the way they drive, especially the way they park them in car parks. I regularly see French drivers reversing out just using their interior mirror , and when they hear the ' bang' they know they have gone back far enough. kind regards Karlo |
