Default Need help with 98 glx 1.6 8v

Hey guys im new here.
ive just bought a 98 glx the car is great but sometimes it just refuses to start. after three or 4 attemps and pumping the accelorator it finally starts.
ive changed coil pack charged battery idle control valve but its just bugging me
has this happened to anyone else any help would be appreiciated many thanks in advance

Get the engine ecu read. Pay particular attention to the coolant temp signal.

thanks il have the ecu read 2mara but ive had it read and nothing seems to come up. its a strange one. and let u know the findings . thanks all and any ideas is helpful. is this something i could change myself ?

Check the parameters for coolant temp in relation to the gauge. Get the auto adaptives reset too.

well just back from the garage still no codes coming up they want me to bring it back so they can check it over this is a proper pain in the ass

He doesn't say it doesn't turn over, so not a starter problem or a battery problem.

Make sure you have the correct plugs fitted.
When the car is warm does it start ok?

no but cover the basics. voltage across battery is a free diy check.
