ok had fap off and cleaned out today in the garage was chocka bloack with crap, cars now sweet bar 2 noises
1.rapid ticking/rattle from top of engine cambelt side (increases with revs)? i've changed oil and flushed it but no effect its not massivly loud but somethings wrong. 2.when pulling out of a junction the car lets out a massive sqeal not a sharpe one but more like a quick blip on an air horn? any help would be great as keeping it if i can get it 100% so save another 307 owner. |

if its ticking from the cam belt...get it looked at and changed asap...ive been told if it ticks it means its on its way out.
the pulling away thing sounds like it could be a flywheel clutch issue.

My wifes 307 1.6 hdi has a problem with a ticking/ chattering from this area .I traced it to the left hand electrovalve ??? the things that divert the air intake from the intercooler. I've no idea of the correct name for this but its the black plastic Y piece just above the timing belt cover.Hope this garbled posting helps John.
