my 406 ran out of diesel now starts but only runs for 20 secs
ran out of diesel put diesel in started then cut out put more diesel in just the same AA came out suggested changing filter i put on a new filter complete with housing bosh by the way still starts and cuts out after 20 secs do i need to bleed if so how? do i need to fill filter housing with diesel before fitting ? any help would be much appreciated cheers hugh

Sounds like the in tank fuel pump failing.

filled filter with diesel now driving for a few miles till cutting out ticks over ok but engine light is on and its in limp mode any ideas would be appreciated thanks for earlier reply

As it has happened since the run out of diesel, I'd have a look at the pump and make sure it hasn't picked some shit up.
