now I've seen it all..... almost as bad as the catalogue at work selling snow ploughs for fork lift trucks.... as if they are going out in the snow

Your snow tyres must have been a very good price...what you pay for them?

You've obviously got snow where you are.... how are they performing? better than 'normal' tyres I presume?

Not too much where I live, which is the North side of Glasgow but I work at the edge of the highlands about 1hr 30 mins away, where it never fails to snow every year.
I've not had any problems with them so far. I am that confident of there ability in fresh snow I can easily overtake slower cars ploughing through the ruts where cars have travelled before. In slush they are slightly better then normal tyres. In the wet they have been the best tyres I've had on a car no aquaplaning and only slight pulling into a deep puddle. In the dry once they have got hot they perform as good as a mid range tyre but good enough for me as I'm no boy racer.

ill think ill pass on those plough things...i managed ok last winter, even when snowing...only time i got stuck was because i was ontop of the yorkshire moors, and the car didnt have enough ground clearance...but it was soon towed out and i was on the roads again. its all down to driving technique and the vehicle being ready for it.

I got stuck once last year.
Raining when I hit the bottom of the road which always gets closed for snow, got half way along to find over a foot of snow and the car just couldn't push it out the way. That plus the hilly nature of the road kept us waiting for 2 hours before a couple of 4x4's arrived to pull us out.
