Key programming

Hi guys, trying to confirm something. I am attempting to programme a key to a 307. Not the original one that came with the car but a replacement one. Can a key from another car be programmed to my car or will it have to be a virgin key?

Thanks for the reply. Found out the other day. Got a blank chip worked a treat. Thanks again
