Hi All,
First Post! ![]() Hopefully someone can shed some light on an intermittent problem i am experiencing on a 2007 Peugeot 207 HDi (1.6). Basically, when i turn a sharp left or right and then straighten up, the rear wheel (seems to be near side), starts to squeal with the wheel turning, with about 4 -5 squeaks over a 20 second period. There is no noise when driving normally, it typically occurs after a hard left then hard right turn, although it sometimes it doesn't show up though. The noise sounds more like metal on metal, or metal touching something. I recently bought the car from an independent, so i took the car back, and just my luck that the sound would not replicate! So basically, they jacked it up, couldn't find anything wrong (although didn't go any further than take the wheel off and knock some corrosion off the top of the rear disc). I could see the pad had plenty left, and the disc didn't seem too bad either. Although i could attach a picture of the rear, if that makes it easier to see anything. I also rang a Peugeot dealer today, and they didn't seem to know what it was, and basically said that if i was unable to replicate the noise / found it would be very likely that i would get charged for inspection, but they wouldn't find a fault. Basically, they said allow it to get worse, then bring it in and we can tell whats wrong. Does anyone have any idea on whats going wrong? I don't mind jacking it up myself, and inspecting anything, but would need to know where to look ![]() |
