Talking How good is this business idea!

I'm not sure on your opinions, but when on a ford forum someone announced themselves of being a manager of a self service garage in darlington...(my roaming grounds)

http://www.spannerit.co.uk/

i think it is a pretty good idea...the ability to take your car to a garage, who has all the kit but without the labour fees of techys these days!

what do you guys reckon?

Yes I think it is a good idea and good luck to them, lets just hope that they have loads of insurance because they could get bitten very easily

aii true, but i would assume that before any work is carried out, the customer would receive an extensive health and safety brief along with basic training on how to use things, possible signing of some form to say you will follow the brief, health and safety etc, so that they protect themselves from claims...but you cant cover everything though. i have already sent an email to them if they dispose of hazardous materials such as oil, brake pads, exhausts etc or if it is up to the customer. also if they stamp car service history books, to keep the aa happy etc, but i doubt it.

Mmmm, that's interesting as it reminds me that I had heard of one of those in Morecambe quite some years ago! I can't say I have heard anything of it recently so do wonder if it didn't survive. I will have to look into it!
