Hello every one. I need some help. My wife's peugeot 207 1.4 HDI, has trouble code P0406, I have checked on "AUTODATA" what it means, it says: 'Fault location - EGR valve position sensor A-high input. Probable cause - wiring short to positive, EGR position sensor,ECM', Peugeot planet says similar. Who can tell me, how to call this part in a picture. I am not sure it is 'EGR valve sensor' or not. I took out connector from that part, and it was very wet (something like oil), so I think inside could be same as well. How do you think, is it problem in this part? If yes, please tell me how to call this part, because I need to buy another one. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your answer. I have one more question: could it be that solenoid operated butterfly is faulty, and I am getting this code P0406. Or it be problem in EGR valve position sensor only. Thanks again.

No the position sensor is built into your egr valve at the back of the engine at the right hand side.
Some egr valves are electric and some are vacuum operated. Would need last eight numbers of chassis to confirm.
