Default Holding back during warm up???

Hi brains. I've got an annoying hesitant engine when warming up. The car starts on the button everytime and sits idling, seemingly perfect, but when I move off its holding back, you can feel it, not jerky like missing pistons tho. After a few minutes it clears. Garage said try diesel additive, done, no difference. Thought maybe glow plug, garage said, maybe not!! Only thing maybe is auto choke if they still use them!! Going to drive to france soon and its bothering me, any help please, thanks.

Hi Bets, no fault codes thank god, dont need a service for about 8000 miles. Went to perrys peugeot and they need the car overnight so can check it cold but want about £100 for the privelage! They have just done a health check, updated software, and nothing wrong with a warm car! As I say, once its warm no probs even if I leave it parked for 4 hours, nothing wrong, only 1st thing. Garage said warm it up first, which I have partially tried, dunno how long to wait, but I never had wait for 3 years prior!!

Heater plugs are only used on initial startup, but they will make it run smoother though - had mine done a few weeks ago and it is smoother afterwards. Maybe the EGR needs a clean - one sticking when the engine is cold will make a difference to the running.

I would gladly clean the EGR if I knew what it was! and if I'm capable! Peugeot did tell me about 2 years ago that 1 of the glow plugs was dodgy but didn't mention it with this latest health check, I thought it might be a ploy to make money, as you do! Thanks for responses, keep em coming please.

I'd have thought it would be struggling if it's due a service.. like the thick gloopy oil holding it back a bit, then warming up and becoming thinner

No sorry, I did have a recent oil change and that garage said the problem could be something I'd rather not know! I dont know much about auto chokes, or even if diesels have them but its strange that it only happens for a few minutes, its as if 2 of the pistons are cutting out at heart pulse intervals, now you know that I'm no mechanic!!
