Exclamation Hdi Flywheel trouble can anyone help ???

Hi, i have a 01 406 hdi 110bhp with the dredded dual mass flywheel which is starting to make a bit of unwanted music (rattling when idling and so on)...i'm told that the 90bhp hdi's have a solid flywheel and i was wondering could this be fitted to the 110 without too much hassle ? ? ...i carry out all the repairs to my cars and would be fairly competent....any feedback greatly appreciated !

You can buy solid flywheel conversion kits for the 110 - so go for one of these. Peugeot supply their own - which beggars logic - why the hell are they still fitting dmf's? Thinking about it, the 90bhp flywheel must be 'thinner' than the 110bhp dual mass - so in all probability they will not be interchangeable.

Different bits of kit between the 110's and 90's - due to power really.

I had mine done solid conversion on me 307 and it was beautiful after.

Apparently 307's are the worst to do (after the Ford Mondeo) and I got the solid mass clutch conversion kit for £285 and labour for £120.

That's total bottom end prices like, if you can get near that you're laughin!

Something for you to aim for

no worries mate!

The added peace of mind comes from your local motor factor who'll take the reg/vin and actually tell you which one he can order in for your motor. It puts the responsibility on him so he will have to get it swapped if it's wrong. Plus if you are within driving distance you can quickly go fetch when he has it in.
