Default Gibbo's replacement car chat

Seeing as how I'm not going for a 206 I thought I'd start a new thread to chat about my replacement car.

As you know I have an amazingly fantastic 307 which is for sale here because I'm after something a little more powerful and newer.

I had my eye on this nice 406 coupe here which was up for £2800 but the guy has dropped the price to £2200 for a quick sale and I don't think he'll wait until Friday when I have the cash.

So I've seen this Cat C 307, which he's looking for around £2800.

What do you think fellas?

The 307 isn't more powerful but it is newer and worthy of a DPF removal and remap.

Wasn't your old one a 90? and this one is a 110 1.6?

Should be some difference then, unless you've squeezed more than 90 out of your old one.

How'd you figure it was a 110?

On second look, it's not got a VGT. My previous comment is void!

The guy with the 406 is being a bit of a jerk. Anyone would think he didn't want to sell it with his lackadaisical attitude. Going to check out the 307 later.

There's also a few 407s around my area which I'll take a look at. Prices for those seem quite reasonable:

Looks good and you now know what faults to look out for and what ones can get you a bargain.

That 407 has sold.

Had a look at the CAT C 307 though. Fairly decent looking car, had a bit of front end damage (bonnet, headlight etc) in 2010.

Only problem is that when it starts up the display reports a fault with the airbag and seat belts. I didn't have Planet with me to run a diag but will head back.

Oh and it has a bit of an exhaust rattle. The back box is fine so I think its in the middle section.

It drove very well though and had plenty of power.
