The best, but not the cheapest, way is to fit a fuel flow meter in line - find these at a ship's chandlers or boat yard; there are 2 sorts: with return flow (usually for diesels) and without return flow - take advice at the yard. (Peugeot Dealers may have such a piece of kit for testing pumps - I doubt it would be cheap to have it done so as to produce an accurate figure though.)

Cheaper and easier, fill up to the brim (or at least a visible and marked point) with petrol and buy a can of petrol. Return to the place where you will test the car, fill to the brim again, idle for, say, an hour, refill to the brim by use of a graduated beaker. Fuel consumed divided by time gives an answer.

Idling consumption is quite susceptible to engine temperature; an accurate figure (or at least a more constant one) will be obtained at normal running temperature.

Alternatively, and depending on why you want the figure, you could phone Peugeot Technical; this will only give a general answer though.

WOW all that just to get a relatively simple answer which Peugeot Australia could probably supply me in a wink, but WONT.
For some reason they are reluctant or maybe embarrassed.

Have not gone to Peugeot France yet, as I was hoping some Tech Head might have the answer or a formula that is approx or reasonably close.

ANYONE ?????????

The reason I am asking is because I have just got a new 3008 and was confronted with the Economy Mode that requires me to idle the engine for 10 minutes if I want to listen to the radio for longer than 30.
I would like to know how much I am polluting the atmosphere.
Never had that in ANY OTHER CAR in over 40 years of motoring.

or you could just plug in peugeot planet and turn economy mode off, why run for 10 mins mine goes away if you start the car and turn off straight away ,but why do you want to sit in your car for an hour listening to the radio are you married?

FRIENDS.

You dont understand, I am down under in OZ. Peugeot Australia doesnt care or is interested in Peugeot Planet.
They said if I mess with their PRECIOUS Economy Mode, they will
VOID MY WARRANTY.

PLEASE can ANYONE tell me how much a Peugeot 1.6 liter petrol engine burns at idle in ten minutes. ????? Or is this Rocket Surgery???

BettyWollocks. I like to sit at Bondi Beach and watch the waves roll in for hours.
Come down and I will show you why and buy you a beer or four and even a BIGGER surprise if you can give me an answer to my question .

mate, if you touching the Economic mode voids your warranty.. why bother loosing your sleep over it.. What difference would the consumption make?? if you want to listen to the radio you would, regardless how much it costs...

reason I say is that my 607 does the same... dont want to turn the mode off as I think its a good feature.. I simply start the car, put it in drive just up a bit and then reverse a bit and thats it.. dont need to leave the motor on for 10 minutes..

I will try your suggestion .
Its not a matter of cost, its about NOT POLLUTING the earth.

In over 40 years, have NEVER had to burn fuel to power a radio.
My issue with Peugeot is, how come EVERY OTHER car manufacturer in the world has perfected a way to not do it, but not them.

Down here in OZ we are looking at every way to reduce carbon emissions.
I want to know how much I am contributing to pollution and then ask Peugeot if they think its OK.
