Default Front N/S Knocking

Hiya. Can anyone advise please? I've got a really irritating front knocking noise on my 607. Its been into my local garage TWICE! and they assure me that they cant find anything!!! Its a conspiracy to send me barmy , but I know my car! Its noticeable when going slowly, especially over block paving, road humps, full lock. Its like a worn bush, track rod end, something like that, but unfortunately, I'm disabled and cant crawl under the front end. What you reckon? Thanks

Make sure they put the car up on a drive on lift and check the suspension. with the wheels hanging you'll get no play in the suspension unless the component is very bad. Bet theres a anti roll link failed somewhere.

Hello,

Check the anti rattle springs on the brake pads, this may sound stupid but if they are not fitted correctly or it has worked lose it sounds like your wheel is about to fall off!

hope this helps..

Mmm, I have the same thing, only on my drivers side. I changed the headlights recently and when I put back on the inner wheel guard I had to cable tie it as the clips were not reusable. Ive always meant to check it out but maybe its not that at all....

The most I have ever paid Peugeot for a diagnostic & vehicle health check is £45 so what you've been quoted seems excessive to me.

Robbery comes to mind! It was 78 last year, they fixed diagnostic faults and a dodgy horn included in the price so it wasn't too painful, and its gone up to 98 now. Thats at Perrys of milton keynes.

Does vary... mine charge £49.99 for diag..... probably best finding someone with planet. However, I doubt that any electronic diag will fix the mechanical fault you've described above

Red face

My 308 also has a knocking from N/R side, I purchased it on 28/1/11, and it's been to dealership 9 times now, steering rack, strut and arm and sub frame have all been replaced, no change. Awaiting Peugeots next course of action, think they are going to take the car to their tech centre.
