Hi, ive got a 206 and yesterday when i was driving i started to slow deown to take a corner and it felt like my brakes locked on and the car screamed to a hault and would not move! I then tried to put the hand brake on and it wouldnt pull up the only thing i could do to get the brakes to release was reverse the car the back end raised up high then there was a clunk and the lock released thought this may of been a one off but it then happened again, just wondered if anyone has had this happene as dont want to take it too the garage and they say its this that and the other get it fixed and its not solved the problem as ive had this happene to me in the past. thanks, ( sorry not long been a member so hope if gone about this right lol)

Are your rear brakes shoes or discs?

The rear brake linings have come off the shoes. You need new shoes. Replace rear wheel cylinders while the brakes are stripped.

Yeh will agree with that. I have a 106 & the same happens with that after being left for a few days in the damp with handbrake on.
I would reccomend also checking the brake drum lining as it tends to develop a lip on the edge where the shoes tend to stick into whilst stood. |
