Default Dual Zone Climate Control Question

Daft question but with the dual zone climate control when you press auto, is a/c also meant to come on too as when I press my auto button it automatically engages the ac too, there seems to be no way to just have auto and no a/c (to conserver fuel etc.).

Is this how its meant to be?

Cheers.

If you hit auto then a/c it'll turn off the a/c but still be auto. I know auto also leaves the screen but it is still on!
