Hi
I'm new to this forum and have just bought a 2006 Pug 206 1.6 HDI to replace a 2L HDI I lost to an Arson attack a couple of weeks ago.... I'm not an expert with cars and this has become obvious as the one i've bought has a catalogue of faults! I also bought private The worst fault so far is the possibility the DMF is on its way out. The car is 5 1/2 years old and done 58000. My mate is a mechanic (thank god!) and has been looking at this forum with a view to seeing if anyone has fitted a solid flywheel as an alternative and what the difference may be (from looking around forums on the net it does appear that there isn't much difference except the price). He's curious to see if its possible to fit a solid flywheel/clutch kit for the 307 1.6 HDI into my 206 instead... The price is alot cheaper and he thinks the part may be the same. Can anyone tell me if they've fitted one before to a 206 or what alternative options I may have (with part numbers?) as the DMF replacement for my make and model is stupid money I'd me massively grateful if anyone could give me a few suggestions in an idiots guide sense as i'm a bit feeble with the old motors Cheers |

For a start, Peugeot give 5 yar waranty on DMF in uk if serviced at Main dealer.
My 307 110 has gone trough 2 one at 85 K and latest one at 100K trying to take a case aginst sachs at present. Peugeot now do a solid flywheel direct replacment,Just had one fitted to car, now idle's properly, only difference is it does not pull as cleanly below 1500 rpm, just drive slightly higer revs, never notice after first week. |
