Hi Guys,
I just want a quick check. firstly, I have read all the threads on cruise control... In planet, I look at the option for test by ecu > BSI > conf > customer options > miscellaneous I find cruise control. It was set to absent, I can change it to type 1 cruise control without limiter (no speed display) or type 2 cruise control without speed limiter (speed displayed on either dash or console). if I try changing it to type 2 it doesn't save and changes the selection to type 1 instead. so I'm leaving it on type 1, (after all the big needle will tell me what speed I'm going!). that's fine, and that saves. (basically, that part of the car seems to believe the cruise control is an option, and even knows what cruise control would work and which wouldn't). in the actuator test section I can test the buttons on the stalk, they all check out as working ok. now the second part of the setup. test by ECU > engines/auto gearbox > Diesel > Engine type (definitly got the correct engine type, looked it up online, also tested and none of the other types let me proceed). anyway, at this screen I see cruise control set to absent. if I select to change this the only option I can change it to is missing. literally all I've done is plugged the stalk in. (the stalk without speed limiter) I can see that the stalk is working, but that's it! I haven't checked for the brake/clutch switches yet, but I read in other threads that you could turn the cruise on and it'd give an error about that, so I thought I'd save it for a bit. the car is a late made peugeot 206 HDI (52 plate) build code 9453 according to the little widget here http://www.rossmarsh.com/bc.html it was built September 26th 2002. If I search car ads I have seen 02 206's with cruise control fitted, so I guess it was available on this model. I have the feeling this is around the time that pug swapped from the older control unit to the com2000 for the 206 as well, which is why most people say it's an 03 and onwards option only, but since I have the com2000, I want the cruise control. When I look at the service box website it says that my car doesn't have cruise control (obviously), but it does mark the control stick as an available part. does anyone know if there is another part that I need to plug in to get this working? or if I'll just have to give up on the cruise control dream? |

i know from lengthy discussions that all you need is a stalk and planet to activate. now i know from looking at my setup on my 307 (when i had it) there was no option on either for cruise control. it did have a comm2000 unit installed and the gap was the for the stalk.
but the main reason why i could was the fact the ECU and BSi was too old and did not have this option installed initially. this could be the same problem. daffyduck had the same problem and he was driving a 2002 307. this could also be an issue with the software version you are using. have you updated to the latest version of planet?

There have been times when you can switch the cruise control on via Pp2000 but after it would just reset itself and the option would turn itself off. (on a 206)
The 206's you saw with cruise control, im guessing they are all CC models? |
