Default coffre ouvert

i have a 2003, partner van, with 2.0 engine and i've been getting this message flashing up, a beeping and interior lights flashing. it happens when i brake or take my foot off the accelerator. i've tried opening and slaming the rear van doors but it doesn't make any difference. i've tried to clean any dirt or anything else out of the mechanism but no joy.

sometimes the locking won't work off the remote and i have to manually lock the doors, sometimes it will. i can sometimes lock all doors using the dash button, but still get the coffre ouvert message, beeping and light flashing.

i'm not sure what to try to fix this. any suggestions?

regards

apparently that means "trunk open" in british..."boot open"

sounds like the switch that detects the opening and closing needs replacing all together.

but i would check all connections first, for damaged wires and even fuses...if any

not on that specific model, sorry.

but typically it will be a hole in the side of the door where a bolt will go into and push a button at the end of this hole.

if that makes any sense
