Right then see if i can type this so's it makes any sense.I use AVG 2011 free version as my antivirus software and on my desktop running xp after a scan its got 1 "file signed with a broken digital signature" then some letters, and my laptop which is running vista has got 50 ........yep 50 "file signed with a broken signature"
Anyone know what this means and how worried should i be, also how should i remove/delete these or should i just leave them alone. Where do i get these things from and how do i stop getting them?? Keep the answers simple please Neil

well basically when someone writes a program/file whatever they leave a signiture to say who made it.
a broken signiture is detected by anti-virus and spyware programs because funnily enough virus makers do not want to be found out so they dont leave a signiture so it thinks it maybe a virus or other harmful software but it isnt, they call this a false-positive (nothing to worry about) have a look to see where the files are located. if in the windows directory or program files do not delete etc. if your pc is running fine and not got loads of random popups, redirections, running slow then i would just leave it as you could do more harm then good. hope this helps somewhat
