Default Bosch or Varta battery

Need a new battery and have two choices, the bosch s5005 or the varta d15. Both have pretty much an identical spec. The bosch is actually £119.99 in halfords but can be got for about £80 and have just spotted one on ebay for £59.95....

Bosch Car Battery Peugeot Expert all Diesel - all | eBay

Second is the varta d15, little bit dearer..

Varta Silver D15 Heavy Duty Car Battery 63AH SIZE 027 | eBay

I think I should go for the bosch due to price as I cannt see any difference between these batteries, both very good batteries with reputable brands....

i've heard nasty stuff about varta. bosch, well people seem happy with them. i got myself energizer based on recommendation from family friend who is some kind of car electrician or whatevs, its somewhat cheaper than bosch and about same as varta.

in your place, id go for bosch. tho does seem a bit weird that its that cheap... make sure you get warranty, god knows for how long it might have been lying around on their shops floor or whatever. heard it can mess up the battery.

Mmm, thats what Ive been thinking. My local parts shop, fyfes, p&c and north west mf all do the varta blue battery for around £60 plus vat. 3 year warranty.

I can get the silver varta or bosch online with 5 year warranty for similar but can I trust the online seller...???

I know I can trust my local store, always good service here.....

i`ve clocked up 500,000 miles on three cars over the last 5 years roughly with blue varta`s and never had a battery problem.

I know....Im just being picky really. Ive emailed a few guys who bought the bosch battery off that seller. Will see how they got on.

Do you think there would be counterfeit batteries on the market....generic batteries with bosch logos and stickers..?

Question bosh and varta

as far as i know varta are made by bosh , both good batteries, my advice look for the one with the longest guarantee at the best price .
as a rule the longer the guarantee the better the battery and see if you can fit a slightly stronger / uprated battery .
