Is it possible to deactivate the automatic wipers and have the first position on the wiper controls back to good old fashioned fixed period intermittent?

Depending on which car, I have seen there is an ECU on mine for the wipers, but never delved in to look at it.

I can speak only for my 407, it would not be possible because i dont have the intermittent speed setting on my wiper control stalk. maybe it could be switched to longer fixed period wiping, but dunno. not very helpful, i know.
