Default all fixed but nervous drive now!

new anti pollution differential sensor
bolt in turbo (was missing causing boost leak)

cars just been fully serviced and is spot on at present, however just cant stop myself staring at the dash and display ready for the next bing, so sadly its gotta go.

What makes you think that the problems aren't over now?

I hated my 307, and one day, I got the major problem done, and it was beautiful.

In fact I have another now... Well it's in the garage, since yesterday morning. However I have a fun little golf to play with.

The internet is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Great for finding things out quickly (would never have got my airbag off my 206 to fix the COMM2000 if I hadn't read it here) but also will fill you with dread and anticipation because you get to find out problems with one car in several million....

TBH the problems you describe don't sound that serious....

only issue i have now is after a service this afternoon dip stick says full and its taken 4.5 litres

but dash display is flashing 1 cube, i can only think the fresh oil 5w/30 is to thin to read but thats stupid guess's

now i'm hoping its not chocca bloc with oil

Just go by the dipstick , the console read`s wrong sometimes , do it the old fashioned way , get out and check oil and water and you won`t go far wrong.

The dash oil reading is always inaccurate. Ask anyone on the forums, they recommend you ignore it

To be honest, despite being told by EVERYONE who doesn't own a Peugeot that they're a French bag of poo, unreliable and all that trash, I'm still waiting for those claims to be based on factual information, they of course do go wrong, I just don't think they go wrong any more than anything else!

Personally it's all relative, there is a heck of a lot of Peugeots on the road so it stands to reason your going to hear about them breaking down more, what I've also noticed is it's generally down to incorrect maintenance or just flat out neglect.

I get criticised a lot at work because everyone drives some sort of German contraption mostly 3 or 5 series BMW's, I on the other hand drive a 407, she's been a complete pain in the arse because of previous owner neglect, but I'm always reminded when I get in her why I chose her in the first place!

Anyway, after a few hours of TLC, several quick oil changes (using the right oil, it was clear they didn't!), a proper service and a CAT/FAP removal to follow, I can thankfully declare that she's running well and 'touch wood' hasn't ever left me at the roadside waiting for RAC! I can't really ask for more than that!

I guess my point is that you will have niggles with any car you buy, that's motoring for you, but you can mitigate that chance by keeping on top of it's maintenance rather than waiting for it to go tits up and THEN try and service it!

Phil

Default yep

yes cars have loads of moving and working parts and every now and again something has to give, however i have never in my motoring history read so many reports from forum members and general advice seekers, asking for help becuause there 307 in particular is broken in some whay or another,

i have owned loads of different manufacturers cars, this is my first and last pug, and i have never experienced such a rubbish car, the old storys of faults being built into cars may be mith but i'm not so sure with this, i think its just a badly thought out car hence why it was not produced for very long.

I argue the same point and direct people to Autotrader where there are Peugeots (usually 306, 307 and 406) with over 200,000 miles on and have a full MOT and the interior is still pristine, and challenge them to find another make of car which can boast the same.

If Peugeots were so rubbish why would they be everywhere in France? By the same logic the UK should be full of British cars. What do you mean there aren't any?!
