Default ABS and EPS intermittent fault

Hi,
I have a 2007 (sept 57 plate) 407 which i bought in March 2010. I had a safety recall from Peugeot re the brakes earlier this year and i had the fault rectified at my local Peugeot dealer. However I have recently been having the ABS & ESP waning lights illuminate, it only happens when I've had to brake suddenly (not very often cos I'm such a good driver!!!) but when i turn off the engine and restart it the lights don't come back on. I thought my brake pads may have worn down to the sensors but I've had the car MOT'd today and the garage said that my pads and discs are in good working order and they didn't experience the problem. Is this is a common fault and can it rectified by me?
thanks for reading this entry

Most likely to be either one of the four abs sensors that have packed up or brake pedal switch all common faults on 407's

hi, very common fault on peugeots 307 and 407.

one of the rear abs sensors, will need taking off and where it sits will need the corrosion and crap removed. the airgap of 2mm to be reset and all should be good

As above its either one or more faulty abs wheel sensors or a brake pedal switch..A diagnostic check is the only way forward...
