Hi All.
My 407 heater does not blow hot on the passenger side. I believe it is something to do with the stepper motor on the heater box breaking off. Does this require a new/replacement heater box or could i remove the heater box and somehow get the broken off part out. I understand that the heater box is a sealed unit!!!!!!!!!!!! Any help appreciated. Can't afford £1000+ to have it fixed. Cheers Tim |

What happens is the gears on the flaps within the heater box break off and you'll be left in the situation your in... ![]() There is a repair kit available from peugeot for around £50 or so but the dash will have to come out to fit it.. ![]() Never done one but it works out to be a full days work. Maybe ring up peugeot and see if they can supply the kit....dont have the part no for the kit but if you get it maybe post it up here... ![]() Ron.

I've had this happen a couple of times. Sometimes it's just one of the flaps sticking rather than breaking. Try switching from Auto to directional blowing; cycle through them at 30 second intervals whilst the heater is on max heat.
For me it has ended up with a lot of hot air coming up through the screen vents but sufficient coming through the other ones. Good luck! Oh, and then there's this 407 heater problem Last edited by PureJoe; 11-24-2010 at 09:28 PM. |

that will be great if you can find website as this seems quite a common fault with the peugeot heaters.

The flap will be broken in two. I've fitted eight heater boxes to these cars. Have done one on C5 aswell. pretty common problem. They can be fixed with a chemical metal but it needs to be moulded to the shape of the square lattice shaped bar that breaks.

Heater broke 19/02/2009 67 000 km. [The first three paragraphs describe the trouble he has getting the dealer to honour the warranty. He involves a Consumer organisation and then[…] the dealer offers to go 50% on the cost (£900 parts + labour) He accepts (foolishly on my view) and has an estimate of the labour done "Heater damper shaft" (i.e. one of the flaps - blue part sitting above others) was broken. Solution: He buys a complete system out of a wreck for Euro 200 installation was E618. The installation ends up being fair but with a few niggles. Here are a few picture of the fault.
