Hi Folks,
Recently installed a new battery in my 407 diesel as it had been playing up from the point of view of not starting every now and then. Green Flag must have got really peed off with me, but after noticing a De Pollution fault I searched to see what this was. One entry stated that if I was lucky I might solve the prob by feeding the engine a couple of doses of engine and oil cleaner, which I did and it seemed to have worked. That was a cpl of months ago. Today, (my birthday) the car simply gave out on my way to hospital and all of the electrics seem to have failed and it is currently at the garage. Green Flag's hand held diagnostic coder came up with an unidentified code. Is it possible that this is to do with the same thing, or, any other ideas otherwise? De Pollution seems to be a bit of a mute point re repair and having been unemployed for 9 months, I am rather worried about the cost to say the least |

I would think that a de-pollution fault would only cause poor running, not a complete electrical failure. These de-pollution faults generate from dirty filters in the exhaust, so the cleaner and a good run might have been enough the clean the filter sufficiently to make the error disappear.
