Question 407 Coupe tyre valves

Hi,

I am getting bad vibes about the tyre valves on my 407 coupe, having an inherent corrosion problem, and that they are expensive to replace. Has anyone had any experience of this.

Cheers,

Coupesav

They give a good bit of bother. 1, system can be turned off (i don't recommend as its there for a reason) and 2. Get a diagnostic check done on the tyre monitoring system. it'll be a faulty tyre pressure sensor.

Default 407 coupe tyre valves

The problem I have is the valve body corroding, the sensors work fine. I have had to remove one wheel as the thread on the valve has corroded away, and I cannot put pressure in the tyre. I am also hearing that Peugeot have authorised repairs at their cost to replace the sub-standard valves.

Anyone else out there had this problem and got repairs at Peugeot expense?

Cheers,

Coupesav

Think most of us have had this problem you can buy ford/jag valves on ebay for a lot less than the pug one's and just change the sensors over.
like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER-...item20c19800d4

or this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RANGE-ROVE...item5644867278

I've done this before turning off the tpms system and any spare stems/valves I had I sold on ebay for £25+

Only heard of one person getting pug to replace them out of warranty, they have changed the valves and I think new ones are black.

This kit is no good as the bit that actually corrodes is not included.
