I have a 1990 Peugeot 405 automatic US model. The car will fire but not start. It does not appear to lose spark however if you watch the injectors spray they will only spray 2 or 3 times and then the car will begin to run and then the injectors stop spraying. If you continue to crank the engine they will eventually spray again and the car will begin to start and then the injectors quit working again. It appears the ECU shuts down the fuel injection as soon as the car starts to fire. Fuel pressure is okay. I believe it has the Bosch ML4.1 Motronic fuel injection system.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Sounds like you may be missing RPM. Can you get the car onto a diagnostic computer.

I did try switching the TDC sensor to another car and the other car ran with my sensor. If i remove the sensor from the bellhousing i lose spark and when i put it back it I have spark back which indicates that's it working. Is there any other device that provides feedback to the ECU for engine start. I'll have to do some checking if some has a diagnostic computer that can connect to the diagnostic port. Is that port common or is it specfic only to Peugeot?
Thanks Joel |
