Hi All
I have a 308 HDI 110HP with a periodic starting fault. The error occurs when I start the car, everything works normally until I turn the key all the way to ignition. Then the car dies completely, as if all power is lost, the locks chatter and the needles in the instruments vibrate in counter clockwise direction. Most often the car starts on the second try, other times it takes 3 or 4 attempts. The error is very periodic and occurs regardless of whether the car is cold or hot. I have had this problem before for approximately half a year ago, where the car ended up being completely dead and could not start at all. The workshop changed the power distributing box (BSM-box, I think it was called). After this the car worked perfectly for about a half year. I don't think replacing the BSM-box again is the solution, because it's most likely something else that loads the BSM box. So I think of the this as a symptom. It may not have anything to do with it, but I think it may be related to a replacement of the EGR valve, because the day I picked up the car from the workshop I experienced the fault for the first time. The workshop has almost givin up on the problem after spending more than 8 hours on investigating without any luck at all. Does anybody have any knowledge of this error? Thank you in advance. Best regards Thomas |
