Default 307 hdi 1.6 2007

Hi all new to the site, had my 307 for 2 yrs and now have a bill for £1000 for it to be fixed i've heard a lot of bad reports about this car even been told by a garage to burn it apparentley theres a flaw in the engine it runs hot also when you have a oil change the engine must be flushed out because of the sump sits to low causing the oil to carbonise theres a metal gauze filter in the oil feed pipe banjo that is incredibly tight and gets easily clogged therefore starving the turbo of oil, and yes my turbo has blown, its nearly a complete strip down to have the car down if its not done properly then the turbo will blow in a matter of minutes, great i cant wait to drive it again i'll be on tender hooks all the time.any thoughts on this.... thanks

This problem happens on this engine with bad servicing practices. Incorrect spec oil and service intervals.
The postal service here in ireland have this engine in most of their vans eg the Beringo, Partner, Dispatch and Expert and i've yet to see one of those engines give up yet.
And it down to......... Service intervals.
These vans get a rough life but I have to say servicing practices work!

Is your car a 90bhp w/o particle filter or 110bhp with particle filter?

your engine has a different turbo than the 110. Change the oil and filter every 8-10k miles and it'll be fine.

Correct spec oil:

Total Quartz 9000 5w40

Although i use this, its a better spec:

Total Quartz INEO ECS 5w30
