Question 307 Climate Control

The electronic Climate Control Unit in my 307SE is defective is it easy to replace and does it require specialist computer equipment to set up. In other words is it a garage job and therefore cost me loads of monies?

Would have thought the same one out of a scrap yard and screw it in , no diagnostics needed.

The dial in temperature on the passenger side is erratic if you try and increase the temp it goes up a few degrees then shows LO. The Garage said it needed a new climate control unit which was going to cost an arm and leg

Is the temp actually going up and down or staying on hot?

Default 307 Climate Control Unit

The drivers side stays hot but I know I have a separate issue with that side as the splined shaft on the flap valve prevents it closing. I removed the motor and shut the valve manually and waiting for the repair kit to arrive to fix that problem.

The passenger side is more problematic the temperature will eventually reach the setting but it needs to be inched up gradually. you set say 17 deg, to try 18 it goes back to LO. However, if you set 17 and wait until car heats up you can then set 18 or 19 and unit will hold new temp try a bit more and it goes back to LO. As the inside temp gets hotter the temp will hold. Its driving me nuts especially in this past very cold winter.

Yes the repair kit will fix the gear problem. Do this first on both sides and come back to me. I've never fitted a control unit to one of these cars yet since they came out in 2001.

Default 307 Climate Control Saga

Dave

The repair kit arrived and I have now fixed drivers side air vent, it now moves the flap to close instead of just stuck on HOT. The Peugeot Garage in Newbury said it could not be done on this 307SE model of car!?*?!!

I now find the ac system does not work so will need to get that fixed next. Although the Climate Control Panel is erratic when dialling in selected temps I think it will be liviable with.

The 6450XY repair kit was just wizard and cost only £10.36. Thanks
